Ban Huay Yang is a small Thai fishing village where life still revolves around the sea. At night, the fishing boats set out, their lights twinkling on the water.
Shops and everyday life.
Tourism is low-key here. A few small resorts line the long beach, but much of it remains quiet. You'll mostly meet fishermen and locals.
Children sometimes come down to the pier after school. It's a real village with shops, markets, and around thirty restaurants. For more options, Thap Sakae is just south and Prachuap Khiri Khan to the north.

Huai Yang National Park
About 30 minutes north of the village lies Namtok Huai Yang National Park, stretching up into the mountains near the border with Myanmar. The park covers 161 km² and is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including tapirs and hornbills. Its best-known attraction is Huai Yang Waterfall, which is at its most beautiful during and just after the rainy season.
Ko Thalu
About an hour’s drive south is the coast opposite Ko Thalu, Ko Sang and Ko Sing. From there, the boat trip to the islands takes less than an hour. The area has white sandy beaches, palm trees, clear water and coral reefs, making it a popular destination for snorkelling.
Getting Here
Ban Huai Yang has its own railway station and is easy to reach by car from Bangkok, Hua Hin and southern Thailand.
From Bangkok, a private taxi or minibus directly to the house is the easiest option. Trains and long-distance buses are also available for those who prefer public transport.
Hua Hin is about 130 km to the north, and Prachuap Khiri Khan is about 30 km from Ban Huay Yang..
